About Me

Welp, here we go!

My name is Rachel and I was born and raised in the PNW.  I love animals, and I currently have a calico kitty named Winkle.  I was a shy kid growing up which lead to a love of reading.  I enjoyed the fact that books allowed me to escape to another world, one less complicated than my own.  I have ready through the Harry Potter series 4 times.  Damn straight I’m a Harry Potter nerd; I am a Hufflepuff in case you were wondering.

I love to read all kinds of books, especially mystery and true crime.  A few years ago, I graduated from books to podcasts and quickly became a Murderino and a Crime Junkie.  Podcasts quickly became a mild obsession; I mean who doesn’t love getting a peak into so many different things and people?!  I want to know all the things!  I self identify as a nerd and am darn proud of it.

I also happen to suffer with mental illness.  What a pain in the ass lemme tell you, I do not recommend it.  I have always had anxiety, but depression really reared its ugly head during puberty.  I managed until I couldn’t and that’s when I started therapy.  That I definitely recommend, it turned my life right side up.

Therapy basically just gives you tools to navigate life in a healthy way and one of the tools I got from therapy was self-confidence.  I decided to follow my dream and open my pet care business.  I dove in headfirst and haven’t looked back since, it was the best decision I ever made.  Getting to take care of dogs and cats while knowing you are taking pressure off the owner feels damn good.

Running a business is a lot of work and has a crazy learning curve.  As I started to learn more, I realized how many businesses are selfish AF.  I went down many rabbit holes and was shocked at what I was learning.  Between the corporations, fed government, local government people in power were making questionable ass decisions.  I knew that we as a people needed to unite so we can fight back against the people who benefit from us being too busy fighting each other to pay attention.

That learning brought me here, to this "lifestyle blog".  I want to share what I've learned as well as hear from other people about what they have learned.  Life is so crazy, and it can feel pretty doggone lonely, so I wanted a place where the lonely people could come to be less alone.
